Sandstone is in its more traditionally recognized form or as quartzite; you will see some of Nevada’s most spectacular scenery! Here's an interesting fact, the State Capitol, and the former United States Mint, are built of sandstone. Now that you have arrived, the scavenger hunt consists of clues around four themed elements: water, air, fire and earth. To prepare for your adventure, print out the list, carry a writing tool such as a pencil, be curious and feel confident. Read the items on the list and get ready to seek and find. Start your journey by reading about Red Rock; the area offers a Junior Explorer Discovery Book and  a special webpage just for kids. Arrive at the Visitor Center, get ready to be a scientist A-Z: biologist, botonist, ecologist, geologist, hydrologist, meteorologist! You will explore, observe, question, and record your journey through the eyes of a scientist.
